Running a blog with a readership from all over the world has its perks. When the insanely sweet French blogger Marine Boutron, who works for A.P.C, said she was going to send me a little surprise in the mail, I never expected an enormous box of A.P.C. canvas tote bags in various colors, prints, and textiles used in the past collections. Quelle surprise indeed! Thank you very much! Admittedly, I’ve gone the extra mile (read: flown overseas) just to get hold of one of these bags before, but to no avail. So of course I was over the moon when I got these and I wear mine 24/7. But what’s the fuss about these totes? A.P.C’s Jean Touitou said: “I hate my old fabrics going to waste… I made them and I’m proud of them”, and voilà, he turned them into cool bags that A.P.C. hand out to their customers. Monsieur Toitou, you rock!

I’m not a big fan of logos, but somehow the three initials make a very understated tote, quite the opposite of what’s normally associated with in-your-face logos. Besides, I’m a sucker for nice typography. Oh well, I’m already a living advertisement for A.P.C, so no more harm could be done to me, right?
