Well, I guess it’s about time to say hello/goodbye to those of you who still stop by this dead-end of a blog, before I dash off again. I’ve been living out of a suitcase since the end of May and truth be told I really do look forward to going back to day-to-day routines. How I miss waking up at 7.30 AM every day and not drinking 8 units of Red Bull a night. But first, I’m just going to idle a bit more and go to Paris before becoming a hermit again.
I honestly have no idea what will happen to my blog after summer. As I’m turning 21 in September, I kinda feel like my Dead Fleurette days are over considering that I created my alter ego as a confused 16 year old gal in need of an alternative presence or pastime (don’t even ask) … I had this fantasy that I would remain an online ‘enigma’ forever but I guess I just want to be me for now.
Regardless, I’ll keep you in the loop. Enjoy the rest of the summer!
PS: Summer in Europe has been ridiculously COLD and schizophrenic. I guess you could tell from my outfit above… Fortunately, summer wasn’t absent in Spain or France so I’ve got my first tan in years. What a shocker!
Oh, beautiful picture! You look so happy :)
I am so sad to here you are thinking of not writing on here anymore…however pleased that you are “growing” and moving on etc. Would love to hear about your travels and adventures etc! I never realised you were only 21, you seemed a lot older, maybe 25 (?!) It has been a joy to read and such good advice on investing on quality, essential clothes. Saw on twitter that you had suitcase issues, hope that’s all resolved now?
I wish you the best of luck and have a wonderful time in Paris.

oh god, that was *hear !
You’re kidding, right?
Ok, well — do what’s best for you, of course. But know that we’ll all miss you and I, at least, would love to continue watching your style journey as you get older and your life changes. You’ve changed the way I shop and wear clothes and I know I’m not alone!
Not kidding! But I might create a new but personal blog soon because I travel so much and would like to share my adventures with friends and strangers – plus one of the advantages of having a blog is that you meet a lot of kindred spirits and interesting people from all over the world (like you!).
Noooo I need my fix of Dead Fleurette, even if it’s sporadic!
I kid (kind of) – do what makes you happy.
Enjoy the summer, I hope you come back in September
:( You have been a great inspiration to me and many others I’m sure so I hope you decide to keep blogging, if only every so often. Good luck with your studies etc :)
You look so gorgeous and happy! Best of luck with your future endeavors, although your blogging presence on the internet will surely be missed. Thank you for all of the inspiration over the years!
You look so happy and relaxed! Hope you will continue to blog :) Best wishes for the rest of the summer. x
Do you call that a tan?
Eh, dude, I never said that I was tanned in that picture……
Did you mean, what will happen to your blog or what will happen to your blogging? If it’s just the name that’s “outdated” than you can change a name, or use your real name ;-)
I understand that getting your grades up to go to med school will be time and energy consuming – I’m totally with you on that one and I explained why more or less half a year ago, but even one post every three months will be a pleasent read. Just don’t apologise your readers for not updating and promising that you will – that’s your space and you’re allowed to do whatever and whenever you like, without the need of explaining youself.
I remember you comment regarding med school! :) In this post I surely referred to what will happen to this particular blog and its concept. I might create a new one under my real name and blog about other things, but I don’t know yet. It’s just good to have a “new start”, starting from scratch and such.
You look all grown up and beautiful. I hope that you continue to post no matter how frequent/in-frequent.
I am so sad to see you go! You’ve completely revolutionized my sense of style, and affirmed my choices to live with less (but better) pieces in my wardrobe.
The last time I checked, you were still without a white t-shirt. Have you looked into the sunspel shirts? They are undeniably gorgeous – I wear my white “slouchy” t-shirt with absolutely everything.
If you decide to give them a try, I would definitely recommend you order an 8 (their sizes are a bit different, and run 8-14) regardless of what you measure. I ordered a 10 the first time due to my measurements, and had to give it to my sister! The 8 is still very loose on me. However, the boyfriend fit is a little more fitted (I have it in black, and it’s not too fitted). You could also look into the scoop-neck (haven’t tried this one).
Anyways, I know this may seem like product promotion, but it’s not! It’s just that I have literally gone through at least 10 white t-shirts in the past five years and feel the pain of your search!
Good luck with the rest of your endeavors. I’ll stay subscribed to you just in case you post anything new. =)
Hey! Thanks for the tip. I’m still without a white t-shirt. I don’t really “need” one since I’ve been without for many years now, but if I do find the perfect one, I would definitely wear it often. However, I’m going to London in September so I will check out their store in Shoreditch.
And thank you very much for the kind words!
As sad as I am to see you go if that’s what you decide to do, I totally understand your decision. I can’t even imagine what it would be like if I had continued the blog I started when I was 16! I’m about to turn 21 in October and have had many of the same thoughts. Time doesn’t stand still and I have a lot to focus on for my last two years of university not just classes but also applying to/preparing for a graduate program and I’ve been wondering how frequently if at all I will blogging at year’s end. Nice to hear your thoughts all this time and if you do decide to set up a personal blog I would absolutely read it!
Very nice to see you from head to toe! These recent pictures are very beautiful and serene…something more than mere style – perhaps contentment?
And whatever form of blogging you choose to pursue, it will always be a pleasure to check in with you. x
I really hope that you’ll come back eventually. I recently discovered your blog and I really enjoyed!
:( This is the saddest post on your blog so far. I don’t think any one of us wants to see you go. You provided so much food for thought on fashion, investing, style, the wardrobe, etc. Reading your blog led me to so many other amazing bloggers with similar ideals, too, but many of them also post infrequently. You ALL can’t just leave at the same time! :p
But I am very glad you are traveling and enjoying life right now. Please do keep us updated (if you want) about any new blogging endeavors.
Oh.. and I would KILL for some cold weather! It’s been close to 100 degrees F here in Southern California (37 C). Your outfit is chic and comfortable as always!
Dead Fleurette!!
You look so pretty and smiley and stuff!
I’m definitely loving your outfit though it doesn’t look anything like the summer clothing I’m wearing over here :)
I hope that when the summer comes to an end, you’ll decide to continue blogging and sharing your amazingness with us. Even if you aren’t blogging as Dead Fleurette, I will still eagerly check your blog every now and then to see what you’re up to. That plus I’ll always keep in mind the great advice and insight you provide in regards to clothing.
So even if you have changed, I (probably along with many of your other readers) want to keep up with you in some way!
Perhaps as you say, a fresh start would be best. You could start a new blog without hiding behind an enigma!
But that’s just a suggestion.
Do whatever feels right for you!!
Oh and I remember a few posts back, you were talking about a pair of sandals. If I remember correctly, you were having trouble deciding between two pairs.
Well, if you haven’t decided to get both pairs or one of those pairs yet, I just wanted to tell you about a really cool sandal shop I heard about.
It’s located in Greece and only available in stores but perhaps if you ever make it to Greece or have relatives near there, you could take a look at it. The sandals you pick are custom fitted to your feet and I’ve heard lots of great things about the store.
Here’s the website if you’re interested!

Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the rest of your summer! <3

P.S. A looooong time ago, I contacted you about writing an article about you. I don’t think I ever got back to you on that. So sorry!
I’ll send you the article and the magazine right away!
P.P.S. I love your spam protection!
So what exactly is the sum of 1+6???
Well, I guess adieu Dead Fleurette ;’( But Fleurette en vie! What do you think?!
Good luck with whatever you plan on taking on next. It will be my pleasure to read your adventures!
Well – if you create a new blog, let us know. Thank you for creating a great blog – one of the very, very few blogs I know that deal with style and still feel thought-of. (plus I love the way you dress).
P.S.: For me, as a reader, this blog does not feel at all like it was written from someone not being herself, even if it is not your real name.
You look so content in this picture, which really makes my day. There’s something about happiness that really lifts the spirits. I’m glad to hear that you are doing well and enjoying summer- you deserve it.
Hi Fleurette,
you look good on this picture. Last article, first time you show us your face :)
Like the readers who already commented this article,
I want to thank you, because you did change my way on purchases and style. Your blog is inspiring, and full of great advices.
Looking forward to read you again,
on another blog maybe
you look lovely and stylish and contented in this photo – wishing you all the best in your studies and everything else :)
Dear Dead Fleurette
I was so happy when I stumbled upon your blog last year. Finally I found a blog that talked about things that I had been thinking about my self for a while. You have truly influenced me when it comes to style and purchase of clothing. I do hope you will continue blogging, as Dead Fleurette or something else, your posts always make me happy, and I don’t care though you’ll only blog once a month or so ;) But what ever you decide I wish you all the best and hope you have a nice life :)
Hvor kommer klokken fra? Fin!
So nice to “hear” from you, even if it’s once in a while – so do hope that you keep up with the blog occasionally :) You look lovely and you are mature beyond your years. Hope to read more of your adventures whenever you check in :)
Love this boyish look!! … I really need a pair of loafers too.
xo
