A nice compilation. The coat on the bottom left has such a nice structure. I especially love the epaulettes. I recently sold off my “winter” coat—it hasn’t gotten cold enough in the last 2 years to wear it and I got tired of it's modish look. Though if I ever felt compelled to get another one I’d go for someothing along these lines, which is a streamlined and upgraded version of the one I sold off. I like the way structured clothes look, I feel I get treated with more respect in them–since I still look like a 12 year old. lol!

Fleurette, Could I trouble you for a bit of advice, please?I see that you've posted some beloved items to be sold. And I know this may sound dramatic, but how do you deal with parting and the separation anxiety (if any?) that comes with splitting up with garments you once loved or still love? I am currently going through a bit of separation anxiety… I am beginning to sell off pieces that I've hoarded, some for years, others for a mere 2 months. These same clothing and accessory items I have not worn more than a handful of times, but like you considered each one of these thoughtful purchases. Main reason for the split? The pieces are being cherished rather than used. For one reason or another even despite my care in making smart purchases, I fell in love with garments that were more of an idea than really for me. I.e…an IBM sheath dress or an Opening Ceremony short sleeve swing coat. I could not seem to wear them out–simply put them on, leave the house, and feel confident. However, I have plenty of ease trying them on a million times over to reconcile it as an item that I love, but cannot wear…yet and then take it off and shove it back to the recesses of my closet. Until, the next day I attempt a closet purge and test my courage with the seemingly untouchables list of "oh I will have it for an occassion" or the "oh maybe I will wear it next winter…" items. Anyway, I just posted the items on a community blog to be sold and feeling a bit saddened? Normal, no? So question 1, move on or retrace some steps and return to the hoard closet?The fact of the matter is, I have become quite good and condensed quite a lot. I suppose "recesses" is misleading. I am mainly getting rid of items so as to make purchases I will actually use rather than admire. I know these items are not working in a fundamental level, but it is hard to admit. Such growing pains towards the perfect working wardrobe. Question 2: How do you stay focused and not let remorse over the trouble and time you had spent on obtaining that one item take over the overall functionality of your closet?Sorry to ramble, and hope this makes some sense! Sadly no – those IM trousers tore twice after just a year of wear. I tried on a few other things by her over the last year and am starting to wonder if her quality has slipped recently. Too much hype, not enough oversight? Anyway, the trousers I am sporting now were made for me by a close friend who is a Delhi-based designer. Cotton-blend navy with silk fuchsia cuffs and olive with grey cuffs. Utterly gorgeous. I plan to get a third pair made in burgundy.
a wool/cashmere pea coat was on my shopping list for a couple of years til i finally realized that while i like the look, i no longer have need for one after purchasing both a cape and a plain trench last winter. my wardrobe planning has moved my aesthetic toward less structured, more fluid/drapey pieces recently, anyway. still, i love the look of a well-made pea coat. side note: i have met "pret a porter p", and can attest that she doesn't look 12! :D
