Cannabis

Those of you who have been following my blog for some time are most likely aware that I have a penchant for scented candles. I love burning candles, especially when the colder seasons are approaching and melancholy has settled in.

I went to London on Thursday and finally got my hands on this covetable “Cannabis” candle from Malin+Goetz. It’s rapidly become a new favorite of mine. The peppery redolence is hands down extremely seductive and addictive – but fortunately it won’t put you behind bars, so I wouldn’t mind getting drugged on this candle. And burning it makes me high, lol, even though it doesn’t contain a sprinkle of cannabis. It also smells like men’s perfume, which might explain why I can’t stop sniffing at it – yes, I also have a soft spot for mens’ fragrances. One word: LOVE!

  1. I am not surprised at all. I also bought this cannabis scent from Shanghai and it's absolutely divine. There's something so special about it that I cannot place (and believe me its not the pot because I hate the actual smell of pot) but the reason we both love it so much might because I like mens' fragrances as well.

  2. First I thought: What the heck? But now I think: It's awesome! If you have it in your room, everyone who walks in would freak out! Haha :D

  3. Ha, when I read the title of your post I thought maybe that's why you haven't been posting in a while, you're addicted to pot. Oops! :-)

  4. They're lovely, aren't they? It's the mood, more, for me. They really alter the atmosphere in a room….so long as they're not having a flicker fit! x

  5. I seriously think you would like APC toumbac – its got the same kind of mens cologne-y nature to it, and it's so fragrant. redolent, yes, is a better word. This is quite funny and I like how dark it is. Can't wait to hear all about london!!x

  6. - Amanda: LOL!! Maybe I was. This candle is post-rehab for me. – Lapin de Lune: They definitely alter the atmosphere! I like burning candles when I'm down in the dumps as they have the power to cheer me up.- la prescriptrice: Lol! It smells better than actual pot!- hannah-rose: I ADORE the APC toumbac. It's one of my favorites. Malin + Goetz also has one called "tobacco" and the scent is redolent of the toumbac. – Cornerstate: Haha, no, you don't!- Alyssa: Haha, hash candle!! Thanks for the tip!

  7. Mmmm Malin + Goetz products smell heavenly. I got the travel sample bag and love the vitamin e moisturizer, grapefruit facial cleanser and bergamot body wash.

  8. - Alcohols: At Liberty! You have to visit Liberty if you haven't! They carry all the obscure, cult brands, which you can't find anywhere else. – L.L.: Agreed! I've only tried their face scrub and it wasn't amazing, unfortunately.

  9. Oh no! I don't think their forte is skincare but their products smell so good. I buy their soaps and put them in my clothing drawers so they smell nice. I have a perfume called petitgrain (?) that's unisex and I use it in the fall.

  10. - L.L.: Oh, really? Thanks for the tip. I want to do that too!- Anne: What does it say? The postcard is from a movie called "Vivre sa vie".

  11. I love the prints you have on your wall! And the text on the "Vivra sa vie" postcard means something like 'experience his life'! ;)

  12. @Fleurette: I’m Dutch too and noticed that poster as well, haha. It says: Experiencing his life.

I adore men’s perfumes but hate the smell of cannabis… so I’m not so sure what I’d think about the smell of this candle haha. However, I adoooore scented candles too :)
