A simple white tee combined with a pair of loose skinny jeans/skinny boyfriend jeans, black ankle boots and suit jacket + a pair of wayfarers that adds nonchalance to the outfit = Perfect! Minus the necklace that is too much in my opinion. It makes the entire ensemble unbalanced as though, in theory, classicism (simplicity, purity, balance) clashes with baroque (complex, gaudy, over-wrought, excessive). I’d like to see her neck, collarbones and non-existing cleavage => body parts that shouldn’t be disguised at all. A discreet necklace would suffice.
That's the problem with me: I just like necklaces and big earrings too much. I know they conceal and spoil what is natural in your beauty. That's sad. Sometimes pieces of jewellery are merely beautiful things which have nothing to do with making you look better.
I agree with the comment about the necklace, definitely.
It's funny, because I went through a little stretch where I was wearing statement necklaces a lot, but I too am moved more back to showing my clavicles with my delicate diamond necklace. Her necklace looks a bit cheap, which is probably part of the problem. It's okay to *be* cheap without looking so. Also not perfect in the pic? The cigarette. I'm no puritan, but stinky clothes are not chic.
You are totally right. The necklace is all wrong. I don't get it why people love that kind of jewelry. It's almost everytime 'too much'.
I actually like the whole look including the necklace. I think it gives a nice touch to a simple outfit. What I don't like is the cigarette… :]
Nathalie: You're right! TJP: Definitely cheap.. like those statement necklaces from H&M!Ane Sunde: Haha, aldri eid et jeg heller (i min "rebelske tid". Hek: Haha, magedanser var det FØRSTE jeg tenkte på da jeg så dette bildet.
The necklace makes it HER style. But to use it as abstract inspiration I get what you're saying. For me it is more that the vneck and the necklace fight against each other. A long pendant style with the vneck or the statement necklace with a crew neck necklace would be better suited.
i don't mind the necklace but i wish she'd wear a bra!
I am totally agree with Fashion Tidbits. Where is the braaaa?www.OnlyCoolCats.blogspot.com
Ditch the necklace! The cuff is enough.
i agree with PPP…it is the necklace that makes the style her own.love silver.
Perfect!!!xoxox
I'm a loooong necklace then pile them up kinda gal myself so I agree, this one ain't doing the do!
I think the necklace makes the outfit! Things I would change: round neck tee instead of v-neck, tighter jeans & not cuffed. And bigger gold cuff/bangle. JJ x
I actually love the over the top necklace pared back with the minimalist, almost masculine outfit. Nevertheless – I just stumbled across your blog and love it!
Simplicity with a twist: necklace! My Favorite !I think the necklaces makes the outfit ! I love simplicity with just a touch of madness – in this case necklace , and its perfect outfit ! It would be too plane ,looking-like-most-fashion bloggers if no necklace. You dont have to show your colar bone every day . Fashion supposed to be fun.One thing i really dont like is no bra! That is so rude! Tasteless And cheep looking! Street is not the same thing as catwalk! We dont need to see her boobs or anyone elses. She could buy some nice thin bra, no paddings , no sponges just a simple bra.If anyone dont like bras i always recommend brand "Barely There' cos you barely see them and you barely feel them on :-)
I love the necklace… it's so over the top and wrong that it makes the whole outfit cool again! It definitely gives that extra edge that defines her style, without it it would be yes pretty but just not inspiring for me.
i would not feel comfortable wearing that necklace (i’m plain jane) but i rathter like it on her. everything else is simple and it’s a nice, quality looking piece of jewelry
