Uggh, lately I have been feeling kind of uninspired. Lack of access to photoshop doesn’t contribute to my inspiration either. However, I’m obviously still obsessed with Isabel Marant’s signature ankle boots, and I’m planning to get my hands on these boots in both black and camel leather. For fall, I’m repeatedly going for the natural “je ne sais quoi” look that Isabel Marant brilliantly rendered in her previous f/w collection. And of course, I’m striving for a more relaxed look comme Isabel Marant before the hype in 2009 (not a big fan of her Balmain-ish-80′s-collections).

Shirt and boots from Isabel Marant, sailor top from A.P.C., cardigan from Comme des Garçons Play.
I like all of this! Though, not so much the boots, but I think I'd really like them in black :) Inspiration comes and goes…I know exactly how you feel.
I like your boy meets girl look I find that very french btw i think you would really suit a fringe, just a suggestion to give your look a tad bit of edge (not that it really needs it)I am a bit over looking at the catwalks for inspiration I find the streets far more interesting. When fashion does not inspire i try to look elsewhere, music, and art books are huhe inspirations for me.Keep us informed on your progress.xS.
Amber: The black ones are nice, though I've always been love with the camel ones and the taupe ones that I own. But black is more versatile!S: Yeah, boy meets girl is totally me. I love being flat-chested and have the urge to add something masculine to my outfits. Fringe doesn't suit me, I used to convince myself that I looked good with it a couple of years back (uggh, I looked so stupid!) but I have way too thin hair and too big forehead for a fringe :(Thanks for the suggestions on inspirations. I'm not in mood to listen to music or watch movies anymore.. guess that's what depression does to a person's mind.
Ahahaha i love the comme des garcons cardigan! I've seen a pair of shoes with that love heart, it always makes me smile. Heh. Also, i've been blog surfing today and i really like the layout of your blog, it's so clean and mmm. – i'm just saying:P
isabel marant boots = love
Åh, den skjorta og den stripete genseren fra A.P.C. har jeg også lagret på dataen min, fra net-a-porter. Fiiine.
Marant's collections were so much better before 2009/2010. I really need to save some money for those ankleboots. But I'm not sure what colour I want yet. Also, leather is more practical but I like them a tiny bit better in suede. Oh well, I guess I have enough time to think about this 'dilemma' because I hardly have any money…:p
I know you may not feel inspired, but I just wanted to let you know that I find you so inspiring. I work in the magazine/fashion industry and have found nothing lately that I want to read, until I found your blog. It's to good and has inspired me to write a blog just for myself. I will email you, but keep up the great work. – Lindsay
I just bought suede boots similar to the I'm ones you own. They should be delivered today, can't wait. I hope they are as versatile for my wardrobe as yours are.I'm feeling a bit uninspired as well, but I'm pretty sure it's the hot weather over here. My summer style is a bit too feminine I think, can't wait for cooler weather to break out my jackets and black clothing!
Den cardiganen er så fin…Bananas!xx
The summer always makes me feel uninspired, it's the hot weather around me. I want to wear nothing but the same pair or shorts and a loose white shirt constantly. For that reason I cannot wait for autumn/winter. Those ankle boots are fantastic, I really want a pair but have had no luck finding a place to purchase them since they aren't in a store near me. The whole "je ne sais quoi" look is what I feel I always go for, and Isabel is fantastic for that, though I do agree since her hype has arisen it's a bit different. But I shall follow her and her clothes to the end of the earth, her close are all around fantastic– be it look/feel/quality/wear-ability.I hope you find the inspiration you're looking for.xx.
Kim: Thank you :)Juno: Yes, indeed!Ane Sunde: Jaaa!Heart In Cage: Leather is more practical. I have to check the weather forecast before before wearing the suede boots. And I sometimes even bring an extra pair of brogues in my bag just in case it starts to rain. Personally, my favorites are the camel, black and taupe colored boots. I don't think taupe exists in leather. I've seen these boots in brown, camouflage (eww), gray, navy, etc, and i tell you they're not as nice as the black, taupe and camel boots.Anonymous-Lindsay: Aww, thank you very much. Your comment made my day – I'm glad that my blog can be something more than just ramble, esp inspiration. Mission accomplished.. haha. Looking FORWARD to an e-mail from you!! I'm constantly checking my mail so you better send it soon :-Dkoko: I bet they are as versatile for your wardrobe. Which color dit you get? Taupe?Johanne: Mhm! Jacquelyn: I think you can order these shoes from the Isabel Marant store in NYC. You should call them! I absolutely agree with you, I always feel safe when I purchase something from isabel marant because I know I'll love it and wear it for quite some time. in addition, I read that she designs clothes for women without breasts! Hey…. that's me. :D
I really like your blog, your style and your principles for fashion. I am curious, do you find any particular celebrities or fashion industry members as inspiration? Or do you find street styles more inspiriting? If anything? Personally, I am currently in love with Clémence Poésy and Elisa Sednaoui's style. Can't wait for the next thing you post!
Anonymous: I'm not really fond of celebrities, but I have always appreciated Clemence Poesy's style. I've even met her and she's as tall as me – that fact made me utterly happy because I hate being inspired by those long legged fashion editors and supermodels.. I also like Elisa Sednaoui's style. I've written some posts about inspiring celebs and people in the fashion industry. I love Emmanuelle Alt, stylist Camille Bidault Waddington, Geraldine Saglio, Sofia Coppola ++ but my biggest inspiration is Clemence Poesy's understated style and natural beauty. Thanks for the comment :D
+ In addition, I'm very inspired by Isabel Marant as a designer and style icon. I like that she doesn't disguise her age and she just appears so genuine.
You met her! Oh, I am jealous, she is by far my favourite right now! She is so chic and natural, I love that about her.
I've never seen a pair in taupe leather either. I already own a pair in that colour in suede by Marant but with a high heel. I haven't worn them in month because they aren't really comfortable. Maybe they'll get more comfortable as soon as I've taken them to a cobbler. But I've been postponing it for months now:p I actually do really like them in green. Grey is nice, too, but not sure if they'll go well with the rest of my wardrobe. I know what you mean with checking the weather forecasts! One time I was wearing my pair and it started to rain while I was heading home on my bike! There is a huge stain on the side of one shoe because my bike gave off-_- sorry for the long comment, haha.;)
I love your moodboard, it actually has the same vibe of the one that I am doing.
I love this! Ever since reading your blog in the early days you really have the most impeccable taste. Welcome back! :D
Anonymous: Word!heart in a cage: Oh, I know which shoes you're talking about.. too bad they're not comfortable because the bidou/forbes/lacow boots from isabel marant are extremely comfortable actually!Allure: Thaanks!Miss Woo: Aww, thank you very much :D Well… my taste have changed a lot since the early days..
